Holt Webb's Vanishing America

Ann Jackson Gallery is proud to present
Holt Webb's Vanishing America.

Over the next 4 years, 39 year-old Holt Webb, a native of Alpharetta, Georgia, will drive BABS, his ecologically-friendly motor home, powered by vegetable oil and solar energy, around the U.S. documenting and publishing stunning images and stories of American treasures that could be lost to us during our lifetimes.

Holt's journey began last year with the assistance from leading scientists at the Smithsonian Institution, taking him into the mysterious wetlands of the Deep South, through the Appalachian mountains and along the Atlantic coast. He will continue north into the countryside of New England, through the Rust Belt and abandoned industries of the northeast, then into America's heartland in search of farms and small town life.

In coming years, Holt will trek west, seeking out the wild mustangs and iconic cowboys and ranchers of Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana, rounding out his explorations in the vanishing frontier wilderness of Alaska.

The images he brings back will be both beautiful and shocking as we are shown man's encroachment on nature, nature's changing ecosystems, and our own forgotten cultural icons.

"This marks the first in a series of exhibitions of Fine Art photography from the Vanishing America project. Future exhibits will be held in cities all over the United States, each one showcasing new work as well as some original favorites, but this is the first!

All of the images are in signed, limited editions of 25 and vary in size from 8x10 inches to over 5 feet. And, once an edition sells out, there will be no more. What that means to the collector is that each image will not only retain its value, but that the value of each image will actually increase with time." - Holt Webb

Sunday June 29th, 12 noon to 5pm.
